A General Directorate of Mine Affairs official told Shafaq News that around 15% of one clearance project in Duhok governorate has been cleared and 26 mines or other explosive items removed so far. The figures are attributed to the directorate, not independently audited. Clearance is incomplete; this report is not an all-clear or a declaration that the area is safe.
