Shafaq reports Erbil's autumn tree-planting campaign has begun

Shafaq reports that municipal teams in Erbil began planting hundreds of trees under a plan to plant thousands across the city by the end of October. The Parks Engineering Directorate says the programme aims to expand green space. The planting total, tree survival and environmental benefits have not been independently assessed.

Shafaq reports the planting; the Parks Engineering Directorate is the claimant for the programme's aims. No independent planting audit or current corroborating report was found. Earlier Green Belt reporting concerns a separate longer-term project, not verification of this campaign. No material disagreement was found; delivery, maintenance and effects remain unresolved. Time is the report's UTC publication minute, not a planting hour. No residents' ethnicity or community identity is inferred.
