LEVANTSIGNAL

PRIVACY

Privacy by aggregation

Useful product analytics without building individual browsing histories.

What the site measures

Levant Signal counts page views, filter use, opened signals and outbound source clicks in hourly aggregate buckets. The admin dashboard uses those totals to understand coverage and usability.

What the site does not retain

It does not store raw IP addresses, full user-agent strings, query strings, exact device location, advertising IDs or individual event histories. A daily rotating one-way tag supports an approximate unique-visitor count and is removed after two days.

Controls and retention

Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals disable analytics collection. Aggregate metrics are retained for up to 90 days. Analytics are first-party and are never shared with an advertising network.

Administration

The protected admin records security and editorial audit events, but never passwords, session IDs, authenticator secrets, CSRF tokens or raw network addresses.

Reading preferences and corrections

Your filter choices are saved in this browser and included in shareable page links. We do not send search text to our analytics service. Resetting filters clears those choices. Stories retained during a failed refresh stay in the open page, not a permanent browser news archive.

The corrections form uses a short-lived security cookie. Your report text and story reference are stored privately for editorial follow-up, separately from analytics. Please do not include contact details or other personal information. Reports remain in the editor's inbox until removed; marking one reviewed does not delete it.

Map providers

The map loads tiles from OpenStreetMap and map software from an external delivery service. Those providers receive network requests, which can include your IP address. Reading the text feed does not require the map.
