Qatar Airways says Riyadh and Dammam services are suspended

Urgency: High · Evidence: Primary source

Qatar Airways' own travel alert, updated October 12, says its services to and from Riyadh and Dammam are temporarily suspended. It gives no resumption date and says affected customers will be contacted. A fresh October 13 QNA report relays the same carrier statement; it does not establish that the alert was issued that day. Canada's primary advisory continues to advise avoiding Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport. These are attributed civilian travel notices, not independent verification of a new attack, casualty toll or responsibility.

What the sources establish

Qatar Airways is the claimant for its own suspension. Its directly inspected primary alert is updated October 12 at 16:54 GMT+3, or 13:54 UTC. QNA's fresh report has explicit UTC page metadata of October 13 at 00:32:01, but its 'today' wording does not override the earlier carrier timestamp. This is a single-source carrier notice, not an independently audited flight-operation record; QNA repeats the same claimant. Canada independently states its own airport warning, not the carrier's operational status. Its inspected advisory is updated October 11 at 09:58 Eastern Time, or 13:58 UTC; this is not a new October 13 warning. No inspected primary notice gives a resumption date or contradicts the stated suspension. Earlier separately gathered Reuters and AP accounts supported the occurrence of injuries in the October 10 incident; those accounts were not freshly revalidated here. A precise toll and responsibility remain unresolved, and newer numerical allegations remain held rather than added. The stable ID and original October 10 Reuters publication-minute timestamp are retained, not an incident clock or a date for the new report. The marker is broadened from Riyadh city to a rounded Saudi Arabia country reference because the notice covers two cities. No airport facilities, aircraft or force positions or movements, response locations, vulnerable people or community identities are included.

Corrections and updates

Update October 13: added the carrier's directly inspected suspension notice, relayed in a fresh QNA report. The primary alert was updated October 12 at 13:54 UTC, not newly issued October 13. Canada's earlier warning remains linked, with its inspected October 11 timestamp recorded. No new attack, casualty toll, responsibility or resumption date is established. The marker is broadened from Riyadh city to a representative Saudi Arabia country point because the notice covers Riyadh and Dammam. Original October 10 publication-minute time, stable ID and all prior history are retained.

Unavailable — First published with explicit evidence limits, representative coordinates and non-misleading publication timing.

Unavailable — Update: added Canada's directly inspected public-safety advisory without treating it as independent casualty corroboration. The primary-source status describes the warning, which predates this check; injuries remain separately corroborated. AP's newer official numerical toll remains held for independent verification. Original stable ID, publication time and city marker are unchanged.

Unavailable — Added the primary Qatar Airways suspension notice and fresh QNA account, preserving the earlier alert date and casualty qualifications. Recorded Canada's inspected earlier advisory timestamp. Broadened the city marker to a country marker for the two-city notice; original time, ID and prior history retained.
