Syrian emergency minister says Hasakah flood-prevention work has advanced

SANA reports Emergency Minister Raed al-Saleh’s claim that preliminary flood-prevention work in parts of Hasakah governorate is complete and further Khabur River measures are underway. Provincial director Abdel Halim Shehab earlier described the second phase. Neither account establishes reduced flood risk or an all-clear.

SANA attributes the follow-up to al-Saleh’s X statement, which was not inspected directly. Its earlier interview cites Shehab. These official accounts are not independent corroboration; completion and effectiveness remain unassessed. No material disagreement was found. Event time retains the initial publication minute, not a work-start time.
