Qatar's emir says dialogue and defence of sovereignty remain parallel priorities
In an October 13 Shura Council speech, Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani said Qatar would keep pursuing dialogue and negotiations while defending its sovereignty and seeking to prevent a wider war. He also called for coordinated Gulf cooperation. This is Qatar's stated policy, not evidence of a new ceasefire, agreement or independently verified de-escalation.
