Cyprus Mail reports October registered unemployment rose 9.7% year on year

Cyprus Mail reports Cystat figures showing 7,790 people registered as unemployed at the end of October, up 691 from a year earlier but below September’s raw total of 8,366. The seasonally adjusted total fell to 10,711 from a September comparison now reported as 10,741. These are registered-person counts, not the labour-force survey unemployment rate.

What the sources establish

Cystat is the claimant for the figures reported by Cyprus Mail; the newspaper does not independently audit the register. The full official release and revision method were not inspected. The latest account gives September’s adjusted comparison as 10,741, whereas the earlier report used 10,809; that revision remains unreconciled. Raw and adjusted counts are distinct series. The catalogue does not independently establish beneficial ownership. The original October publication minute and representative country marker are retained for this monthly follow-up.
