France says it will join planned Abu Dhabi talks on Ukraine, Reuters reports

French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot told RTL that France would take part in planned Ukraine talks in Abu Dhabi, Reuters reports. He did not identify France’s representative. This adds a French participation statement to the earlier US plan for talks involving Ukraine and Russia; no meeting, agreement or settlement is established.

What the sources establish

Barrot is the claimant for France’s planned participation. Reuters’ complete, credited Al-Monitor syndication of his RTL remarks was inspected. The original broadcast and separate Russian, Ukrainian or Emirati confirmation were not inspected. Earlier US accounts remain in the source history. Distinct official statements describe intentions, not independent observation of talks; no material disagreement on the planned city was established. Attendance and outcomes remain subject to change. The original November 2 publication-based event time is retained; November 8 is the new report’s date, not a meeting time. The rounded Abu Dhabi marker is representative. Venues, delegation travel and security arrangements are omitted.

Corrections and updates

November 8 update: added Barrot’s statement that France would participate, with its representative still unspecified. Retained the original event time and city marker. Planned participation is not evidence that talks have occurred or produced an agreement.

8 Nov 2026 13:04 UTC — Added France’s announced participation under the existing talks-plan ID; retained original publication timing, city marker and evidence limits.
