Lee says Türkiye and South Korea agreed to expand nuclear and economic cooperation

Reuters quotes South Korean President Lee Jae Myung saying he and Türkiye’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan agreed at a Tuesday summit to expand cooperation in nuclear energy and defence. He also named infrastructure, biotechnology and critical minerals. These are attributed cooperation intentions; the inspected dispatch does not establish a signed reactor-construction contract, regulatory approval or completed investment.

What the sources establish

Lee is the claimant for the leaders’ agreement. The Reuters-labelled dispatch and its UTC publication metadata were directly inspected at Arab News. The original press-conference transcript, signed instruments, regulatory decisions and investment records were not inspected. No material disagreement was established, but there is no independent implementation verification. The event time is the publication minute rounded down from metadata with fractional seconds, not the summit’s occurrence time. Sensitive infrastructure locations, equipment and movements are omitted.
