این مرکز گزارش‌های منتشرشده‌ای را گردآوری می‌کند که صریحاً برچسب فلسطین دارند. راهی برای دسترسی به تحولات مهم غزه و کرانه باختری فراهم می‌کند و توصیف جغرافیایی واقعی هر خبر را در معرض دید نگه می‌دارد. این برچسب ابزاری تحریریه‌ای برای یافتن مطالب است و جای شرح گزارش از مکان، ادعاهای حقوقی یا مسئولیت را نمی‌گیرد. پوشش خبری باید در کنار درگیری و شرایط انسانی، به سلامت عمومی، آموزش، معیشت، حقوق، حکمرانی و زندگی فرهنگی بپردازد. مردم باید هم به‌عنوان مشارکت‌کنندگان جامعه، با انتخاب‌ها و نهادهایشان، و هم به‌عنوان افرادی آسیب‌دیده دیده شوند.
آمار انسانی نیازمند معرفی روشن تولیدکننده، دوره گزارش‌دهی و تعریف آن است. شمار افرادی که یک برنامه به آن‌ها خدمات رسانده با شمار نیازمندان کمک تفاوت دارد؛ آمار تجمعی کشته‌ها و مجروحان با یک رخداد تازه گزارش‌شده متفاوت است. جایی که محدودیت دسترسی مانع مشاهده مستقل می‌شود، این محدودیت باید در گزارش ذکر شود. داده‌های عملیاتی خود یک سازمان می‌تواند شاهد دست‌اول ارزشمندی باشد، بی‌آنکه تک‌تک ادعاهای نهادی دیگر را مستقلاً تأیید کند. تغییرات یک برآورد منتشرشده باید توضیح داده شود، نه اینکه بی‌سروصدا در عنوانی قدیمی جایگزین شود.
گزارشگری سیاسی و حقوقی نیز همین دقت را می‌طلبد. رأی دادگاه، دستور رسمی یا بیانیه نهادی را با توجه به آنچه واقعاً می‌گوید بخوانید، آن را از تفسیر آثار احتمالی‌اش جدا کنید و بررسی کنید آیا اجرا مستند شده است. بیانیه یک مرجع یا گروه مسلح روایتی منتسب به همان گوینده است. تکرار آن از سوی چند ناشر ممکن است همچنان به همان روایت واحد برگردد. برچسب تأیید مستقل ویژه شواهدی است که مستقلاً تولید شده‌اند و ماهیت این استقلال در یادداشت راستی‌آزمایی خبر توضیح داده می‌شود.
برچسب‌های جوامع فقط زمانی به کار می‌روند که هویت صریح و مرتبط باشد. پناهندگان فلسطینی مرکز جداگانه‌ای دارند؛ وضعیت پناهندگی هرگز نباید از نشانی یا نام شخص استنباط شود. نشانگرهای نقشه کم‌دقت‌ترین مکان مفید برای فهم خبر را به کار می‌برند و مکان‌های آسیب‌پذیر یا تحرکات عملیاتی جاری را نشان نمی‌دهند. برای درک روند شکل‌گیری یک روایت، منابع، یادداشت عدم قطعیت و سابقه بازنگری را دنبال کنید. خبر می‌تواند پس از انقضای نشانگر معمول نقشه همچنان خواندنی بماند و اهمیت آن باید از محتوایش سنجیده شود، نه از ادامه حضورش روی نقشه.
